In recent days the opposition has put forward a backroom deal to overturn the results of the last election without seeking the consent of voters.   Less than two months ago Canadians elected Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative Government to lead them through these tough economic times.  We are now faced with the potential takeover of our Government by Stephane Dion and a coalition with separatists and the NDP.   This is an affront to your voice.

This coalition is an attack on Canada.  Separatists will participate in government and have a veto over national decisions.  It is an attack on Canada’s democracy.  Canadians resoundingly rejected Stephane Dion as Prime Minister in the last election.  And it is an attack on Canada’s economy.  Even the Liberals themselves called the NDP “economically-damaging”.

In a time of economic instability Canada needs a stable government.  The Conservative government will work to protect Canada, protect democracy, protect our economy, and protect your voice.  

I urge you to stand up for Canada.  We need to stand together for Cambridge, our country, and our democracy.  Please take every opportunity available to write to Cambridge’s local newspapers, call our television and radio stations, write letters to Opposition MPs around the country, attend peaceful protests, and express your concerns to every person available to you, including the Governor General of Canada.

This coalition would put Canada behind on every front and I urge you to stand up now and show your distaste at every opportunity available to you. It is time to stand up for Canada; it is time to let the people speak.
