Minister Gary Goodyear, MP, welcomed news that the 2011 Canada Summer Jobs budget for Cambridge and North Dumfries will include an additional $43,053 of new funding - bringing the total budget to $243,838.
“Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative Government’s commitment to our economic prosperity at home - are further shaped through the announcement of new funding for our community’s Canada Summer Jobs program. I encourage all eligible organizations to apply and take full advantage of the opportunities that are available”, said Goodyear.
Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative that provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to focus on local priorities – including those of Cambridge and North Dumfries - while achieving results for both local students and their communities.
Cambridge and North Dumfries not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees can apply for funding through the program. The application period begins on February 1st and runs until February 28th, 2011. Applications are made available online at www.servicecanada.gc.ca/csj2011.
