Friday, March 27, 2009 - Today, Member of Parliament for Cambridge/North Dumfries and Minister of State (Science & Technology), the Honourable Gary Goodyear helped kick off the Canadian Short Track Speed Skating Championships taking place at the Hespeler Memorial Arena.

The competition, which includes athletes from all Canadian provinces, will take place this weekend with closing ceremonies being held on Sunday, March 29, 2009.

Extending greetings on behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Minister Goodyear opened the ceremony by wishing all the competitors an exciting, safe, and joyful weekend.
