Minister Goodyear to host Information Clinic on E.I. & Worker’s Benefits
May 14, 2009

Cambridge, On – On Friday, May 22, 2009, Member of Parliament for Cambridge/North Dumfries and Minister of State (Science & Technology) Gary Goodyear will host a free information clinic on Employment Insurance & Worker’s Benefits. This clinic will run from 2:00pm-4:30pm, location TBD. Seating will be limited so please call 519 624 7440 to reserve your seat.

The seminar is a direct response to the increased inquiries Goodyear’s office is receiving in regards to EI. “We’re helping Canadians stay in their jobs and helping companies avoid layoffs while their industry recovers through improving the work-sharing program,” stated Goodyear. “We're also improving and extending Employment Insurance Benefits by increasing the maximum duration of benefits available under the EI program by five weeks, raising it from 45 to 50 weeks. But there are still fundamental questions people have about EI and I hope this clinic will answer these.”

Representatives from Service Canada will discuss the EI process, the Work Sharing Program and the Wage Earner Protection Program for local constituents.
