(Cambridge, ON.) – The Hon. Gary Goodyear, Member of Parliament for Cambridge-North Dumfries and Minister of State (Science & Technology), (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario), is pleased GO Transit will soon offer bus service in Cambridge, Ontario.
The new GO Bus stop, located at the Wal-Mart Power Centre at Hespeler and Pinebush road, is an ideal location to assist commuters working in and around the Greater Toronto Area.
“This is fantastic news, not only for Cambridge and Waterloo Region residents, but also our environment” said Minister Goodyear. “GO Transit is an excellent public transit option for commuters and our city has been waiting quite some time for this development.”
Since 2006, the Conservative government has been clear in its strong commitment to public transportation. In our Economic Action Plan, the government introduced the $10-million ecoMobility program to promote public transit. We have also created a public transit tax credit, extended the public transit tax credit to include electronic fare cards, and set aside up to $500 million in support of capital investments to improve public transit.
