Government of Canada Supports Innovative Research and Development in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO - (Marketwire) - The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), today announced contributions to four Cambridge-based companies from the National Research Council of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).



These contributions total more than $340,000 and support innovative research and development projects that will assist these companies in developing high-tech solutions for global markets.



"Our government is committed to building a competitive advantage for the Canadian private sector," said Minister Goodyear. "The Government of Canada is investing in science and technology to create jobs, strengthen the economy and improve Canadians' quality of life.

The contributions include:



• A $187,500 contribution to Centra Industries Inc. that will support the company in developing a tool data management system to have real-time data for machining tools.

- A $100,000 contribution to eSentire, Inc. that will support the company in two separate projects related to software security and network monitoring.
• A $30,000 contribution to Logicap Engineering Corp. that will support the company in developing a customizable component database to be integrated into an automated tooling design system.


• A $29,944 contribution to New Age Robotics & Controls Inc. that will help the company complete a marketing analysis survey and sales business strategy for the consumer goods and packaging sector.
