MP GOODYEAR PLEASED WITH CTA DECISION OVER HIGHWAY 24
August 26, 2009

August 26, 2009 (Cambridge, On) – A decision made last month by the Canadian Transportation Agency has pleased many in Cambridge, including federal Member of Parliament, Hon. Gary Goodyear.

“Having worked very hard on this file as well as the rail yard in North Dumfries Township for a number of years now, I’m very pleased with the result of Waterloo Region’s application to the CTA. Knowing that CP Rail is ready to move forward with the Region is very positive news for our community,” said Minister Goodyear. “I’m eager to see this project begin with the full cooperation of all parties,” he added.

According to the Agency ruling, CP Rail was apportioned 85% of the cost for the grade separation at Highway 24, leaving the Region to cover 15% of the cost.
